The heart of it
My goal: to help you see through all the conflicting information, so you can optimise your animal’s food in a way that is right, that fits, and that works.
With all the (sometimes conflicting) information, trends and opinions, it can be hard to know what is truly good. The only honest answer is to look at what best matches your animal’s needs, build on that, and keep watching how your animal does on the food. Choosing what to feed and which extras to use is where many owners get stuck. Completely understandable: I have been there too.
This service is an accessible way to quickly gain more insight into what you offer in the bowl every day. With bespoke advice on what is functionally interesting to add, you get easy handholds to make a difference with small changes.
Who it’s for
Is this for you?
For owners who want to work preventively on their animal’s health, and on the role food plays in it, in a compact but impactful form. For anyone who wants to make the feeding of their dog or cat truly bespoke.

You want more certainty that the food matches your animal’s needs.
You are looking for personal guidance instead of general guidelines.
You like getting clear information and answers to your questions.
You want to work preventively on your animal’s health.
Made to measure
What’s included.
We start at the base, the current food, and then look at which functional additions can enrich and complement it in every life stage.
Analysis and assessment of the current food
I look at the composition of the current food with a fresh, independent and expert eye, and share my view on what goes well and where improvement is possible for your animal as an individual. You get a clear and honest picture of where you stand.
- What already matches your animal’s needs, with background on what we like to see in the base
- Where improvement is possible
- Which nutrients deserve extra attention, and how to apply this in practice
- How the food suits age, health and lifestyle
Functional toppings and supplements
Not every type of food is equally complete, and highly processed food such as kibble or tins loses nutrients along the way. So a base food often benefits from additions. No unnecessary products, no trends, no one-size-fits-all: only well-founded additions that truly contribute, meant as a complement on top of the food. Some whole-food sources are simply available at your local supermarket.
What the advice is based on
- Nutritional values: which nutrients are already sufficient, and where shortfalls or imbalances may be, measured against your animal’s daily needs according to NRC and FEDIAF guidelines
- Age, health and needs: a young animal needs something different from an adult or senior, a sport or working dog differs from an average family dog, and pregnancy and lactation ask for their own approach
- Quality, composition and absorbability of the supplement itself, developed for animals and suited to the current food
Practical, never overwhelming
Everything arrives in a practical advice report, with handholds such as how to add toppings, how to store supplements, when to give which supplement, how to build up doses, how to recognise your animal’s reactions, and what to realistically expect.

Good to know
Important notes.
I don’t diagnose: your vet comes first.
No. My services are designed with healthy animals in mind, and I don’t diagnose. With complaints or illness, medical checks at the vet always come first. If you would like to work on feeding therapeutically alongside your vet, I can recommend a fellow integrative therapist. Once there is medical clarity, I’m happy to help optimise nutrition preventively.
What if I decide to switch food?
If, after the analysis, you decide you want to change food and would like help with that, we can convert this service in consultation into a full nutrition advice, in which new bespoke food is recommended as well.
Can I still ask questions afterwards?
Of course. I’m always reachable for extra questions after you have received your advice. Keeping it simple and clear is the whole idea, both in the report and in our contact moments.
Let’s get to know each other
Curious what I can do for you both?
Plan a free, no-obligation introductory call, so we can calmly look at what suits you and your animal. Hopefully speak to you soon!
Love, Melissa
